Revit 2016 - So the leader is directly linked to the room identifier I assume so when you place the ROOM TAG outside the room space the leader links to it. Some think this annoying so see lines all over from room tag to space. Is there any way to be able to the same but without a leader.

Not that I know of.

How does one know what room the tag is tagging if it is outside the room and has no leader?

You can drag the end of the leader to anywhere within the room or it's edges.

I guess because it's adjacent to the room.

That works for rooms located along outside walls but my projects are too complicated for that and a room name outside of the room is in another room.... just too confusing for a reader without a leader.

I agree. I just started with a firm who still uses acad. I am their Revit transition man and there is a consistant opion to make it look like autocad. Very difficult.
