Hi, in revit 2016, I don't see the ceiling plans in the list of views of underlay parameter of plan views.
How can I make them available for that purpose?

Look at the view properties underlay. AutoDesk has made some changes here that we now have to pay attention to and it is confusing. (Not only confusing but kind of stupid!)
Try changing your range base level from none to the floor above, then change the underlay orientation to look up and finally, change the range to your level.

Mr. WWHub, thank you very much. But I still don't get it. To which view do I have to make those settings in the range? I don't see any "base level" parameter in the views. I can not choose any RCP as underlay. They don't exist in that field. I had to make a new 3rd floor plan just a little bit above my 3rd floor plan and in that one (the new one) set view range to show the "overhead" part of that floor, just to be able to call this new floor plan as underlay.
I'm doing this to show beams in dashed lines in my 3rd floor,

Well I notice somthing weird, my revit is a little different than yours. As you can see, there's no such fields (range:base level) in the properties of the view. And it says, in underlay orientation, "plan" and "reflected ceiling" not up and down. Am I doing something wrong? Using another discipline view or something?
And of course, thanks a lot.

You said you were in 2016, are you sure of that? This is new in 2016.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Would be a service pack thing?

It could be part of the subscription benefit - I don't know. Here is my Build and updates:
20151209_0715(x64)Update1 for R2
You can find that information under the question mark drop down - About Revit.

OK - You are on a regular product and we are on subscription. Looking at R2 I sse the subscription package has this added benefit: Wall joins:
- When placing walls, you can allow or disallow wall joins with the Join Status option. See Place a Wall.
- Note: This feature is available only to students and to Autodesk Maintenance and Desktop Subscription customers for Revit 2016 software releases.
So that explains it all.
