im trying to put a ceiling in, but i doesnt show up in the celing plan view. i get a messeage that says to check the visblity setting and all that., which i did and still no luck. need help asap.

I would check the view range, as it may be cropped out of the view. Either your cut plane is too high or your view depth and top view clipping plane are too low.

well their both set to the 2nd level. the view depth is 0' 0" as well as the top cut plane.

When you say second level I presume that you are saying that it is the level above. If it is then those visibility settings should work assuming the ceiling is below the second level. This may seem basic, but have you checked that it is actually placing the ceiling. I thought that I had problems in the past where it would say to check the visibility settings but it would not place an instance of family or ceiling. Check with a camera view or section.

yes i it was actually placing the ceiling. i checked it in the 3D view. it just doesnt show up in the ceiling plan.
