Hello, I am working in Revit 2015 and am looking for a way to make the stringers on a outdoor fire escape stairs out of c-channel.I edited the stairs and tried to change the stringer profile, but my only options were default and curb & gutter. How can I get a c-channel profile into here?

Have you thought about using the help that is built into every Revit?   Search stair stringer and here is what you see:
