Hi guys,

I have a problem which I have been trying to solve for the last couple of days to no avail and have run out of time to try and figure  out this frustrating problem.  I have a project with which we are building with ICF walls. In addition to this, we are using a steel structure with TJI wood joists. The elevation of the steel beams are -133.0 from the second floor and in turn, the TJIs are -95.0 from the second floor.

Here is the problem.  I cannot get the beams to show a cutback like I need them too on plan.  For a clean drawing I want the TJIs to be cutback (as is standard) from the beams and the walls they are joining into.  No matter what I have tried, strutural settings, start/end cutbacks nothing seems to work. The only thing that seems to help is if I place a reference plane where I would like the cutback and cut geometry from there. But when I do this in a 3D perspective or section it shows the beam completell cutback.

I am wondering if this is a direct problem associated with the ICF walls?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S I have attached a picture to better clarify.

Hi guys,

Okay ive figured out how to have the TJIs cutback from the walls/beams. My question now is if it is possible to assign a symbolic representation cutback to joists only? I know about the symbolic represntation in structural settings but that only changes beams/truss and braces.  Any suggestions?
