How can I do it?
Thank you.

Select the crop region boundary and override by element. Change the color and thickness there and un-check hide crop boundary in your print settings.

Johnzo142,
You should always test your answer first. I tested that before I answered and you can not override element for crop region lines.

I did test it before my answer and it most certainly does work. I even printed my test prior to answering to ensure that the color came through. I'm not in the office at the moment or would post a screen shot.

Strange, that's not what I got. I did it from an active view on a sheet, perhaps there is where the difference is.
Edit: Nevermind, I see from your image that you are in an active view on a sheet. I'll post my image later.

So, i see that the only way to change the crop region color is to override it in view.
What i wanted was to change it globally through Object Styles.
Thank you again for your help.

Just to follow up, it appears that the override by element feature is not available for a plan view but is available for section and detail and elevation views. WWHub, this is where the difference was. glenlake, you are correct that there is no way to control this globally.

Johnzo142,
I have to apologize, I was just being stupid. I think I had used the crop region over-ride several years ago and had forgotten because we turn off crop regions when printing in our office. When I checked it for plans, it was not available and I failed to check it for sections and elevations. Revit has changed so much over the years and I did not follow my own advice.

Why is it so?
Is it so overcomplicated for the softwaer developers that they could not make it controllable through Object Styles? It's obvious that the feature could be extremely useful when you work with sheet layouts.
Or is it made intentionally? But why?
Any thoughts?

There is a wish lit maintained by AUGI and this issue may be on it. You can add it if not. AUGI has a vote every so often and they submit the results to Autodesk. I think they do pay attention ...somewhat?
