Hi
Revit 2014 R2
I'm having a problem where I have a model group of a railing/balchony on two different floor plans, but the material pattern differ in elevation. (see attached)
They're in the same view, its a drafting pattern. Tried changing it to a model pattern to move the lines of the pattern but it doesn't seem to work, probably due to how the pattern is constructed.
Any suggestions/solution to how to fix this?

open up your pat file for the hatch and insert this line of text before the numerical data to make it a model pattern
;%TYPE=MODEL
Currently what is happening is that the two patterns are lined up with themselves as if it is one large pattern that is only visible on the elements

Ah yes, didn't realise that fixed it the first time I made it to a model pattern.
Can't move the hatch lines though, but I guess i just have to find another pattern (or repair it myself).
Thanks for your help!

If it is a model pattern and that is what you have assigned to the material, then it will move! Tab select a horizontal or vertical line in the pattern and move it. It will change color when selected.
If you still can't move it the something in your process is incorrect.

Hm yeah that's the process I usually do, but can't make it work with this pattern though. (a pattern I downloaded from somewhere)
Never had the problem before, but feel free to try the pattern yourself, maybe it's something else going on.

Not a problem, here it is rotated.
You never actually imported this pattern if you tried. You have to name the pattern to import it.

Ah my bad, you're absolutly right.
Stupid of me not to even try another pattern on the railing to see if I could move them.
Maybe it's something I don't understand about railings then. When I assign the material to a wall I can move the pattern.
But not when i assign it to one of my rail profiles under the Rail Structure tab.
Ah well, I managed to solve it anyway so it doesn't really matter right now.
