I have been having an issue where the project I am working on just won't close. I close all associated windows/views and the project remains open some how. I know this because the project browser is still loaded with that projects views/sheets. There are also NO hidden views of any kind. I can actually open a new Revit issuance, open a project and when the open view comes up, if I close it (knowing there is only 1 view open) the same thing occurs.

Is there some silly setting that is causing this? Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried picking the Revit R and then close?

Depending on your system, the Revit year you are using and how you work, Revit sometimes needs time to close.   It is not always immediate because it has to update its files.  The biggest contributer to this problem is having tiled windows.  Another slow down is 3D view with a lot of entourage or planting.  Revit has to update and save the contents of every active window.   Try to always save from a simple window like a  notebox but first use the close hidden windows option from the windows menu.Another problem is not properly closing a command.   I'm not sure if this is still a problem but it used to be.   Revit may be still waiting for you to finsh a squence.
