Hello Friends,

Why is it that when I create a section through the wall & roof at fine detail level (e.g. 1 1/2" = 1') - and it is set at "fine" for the visibility at detail level, I can see the layers of the wall (wood, gyproc, brick, membrane, etc.) but the roof shows absolutely no detail - just a blank thickness? Why can't I see the plywood sheathing, the shingles (if shingles were, let's say, 1/4" thick)?

Many thanks

SE

Does your roof actually have layers to it?

It's the standard roof from the default selection - "Basic Roof - Wood Rafter 8" - Asphalt Shingle - Insulated" - and when I click on the roof>Edit Type>Structure>Edit, then I get all the layers of the roof. The section works for the wall, but not the roof, that's what's so puzzling.

Something is wrong with your process because this does work.

Are you sure your section is actually cutting the roof?  Cut another section.

In VG, check your settings for your roof category.   It could be set to coarse for that view.
