I need to create a custom curved roof but the building is not rectangular. Is there a way to edit the footprint of the extrusion?

EJ528: I appreciate the brevity, but don't understand what you're asking and telling. "Custom curved roof", "building is not rectangular", "Is there a way to edit the footprint of the extrusion?" I'm lost. What is it that you want to do exactly?

I am on a team that is challenged with designing a school. We want to build a curved skywalk going from one building to another. We also want to add a curved roof/ceiling. I have tried to create a roof using the "roof by extrusion" tool but when I create the curvature of the roof and hit the check mark, the roof is a rectangle. I need to be able to match the footprint of the roof to the walls of the building.
Picture 1&2: What we want to base our design off of
Picture 3: The roof by extrusion only being rectuangular
Picture 4: This is where we want the roof to lay but it isn't curved like we want it to be
Thank you for responding!!

Wow, that IS a significant challenge! Great clarification. I get it now. I'm going to need to gnaw on this one awhile, but I betcha somebody now will beat me to the punch in the mean time. Right off the bat though, I'm thinking Roof by Mass Face.
Edit:...or a Sloped Curtain Wall????? mmm?

This is an interesting challenge. Love to get other's input. I can get there by sketching an in-place mass and the applying a roof by face. Don't know if it's the ideal approach, but for a quick one-two, it seems acceptible.

If you want all the layers, then Roof by face is the best. You could do an in-place model in the roof category like I did.

I think the best overall approach would be the Roof by [Mass] Face.
WWHub: I thought you could upload an RFA file on this site. Yes/No?
