I got model of existing building to be renovated. But the model is screwd up. There are about 30 levels (building has 5 stores) and I don't see any reason of that. I'd like to make it more reasonable. I can remove them from project browser and set my new levels. But when i'm defining a base level of elements there are my new levels and the old levels. Also in elevations and sections there is quite mess. Of course I can't remove them from project.

When I draw hotel rooms (walls, furniture, plumbing) with new levels as a base and make a group then base of each element switch to the older (I draw a wall and bed on "NEW_1" after grouping it switches to "OLD_22" with -18 offset).

What would you suggest?

Level are NOT necessarily floor levels, consider some of them to be reference planes.  They could be using levels instead of reference planes because levels give you more tools to use.

Understand that levels DON'T have to have associated floor plans and they don't even have to show up in order to be useful.  In hand drafting, we often had 'levels' that we showed like TOS (Top of Steel) and Joist Bearing and we still do.  When we use levels like this, we often place them in a workset that is normally off in all views.  Or we might just hide them individually in sections and elevations.

I think it is a big mistake to delete these levels.   Instead you could have done as I have described above.

I downloaded some app which shows what is hosted to each level. And belive me... there's no logic there. It's just a mess.

And I will not use these existing levels because they're just useless and impossible to understand. I think there's app which allows to change level without moving element. Maybe I should just rehost all existing element to one level, remove the rest and new structure design on my own, new levels.

And what about elements that change their host accidently, like I wrote before? Setting workset would help with that?
