Looking for a Revit family wall mounted carriage lamp/lantern that I can change the housing colors on.

I found that one but it is autocad inserted into a revit family, therefor uneditable.

I wish you would have stated that in your earlier post. 

If the autocad file was built correctly, it can stll be controlled.   Materials are assigned to autocad solids on a layer basis - you can set this in the project - VG.

The one I had found is not from cad and not sure where it came from. Needless I have searched all over the internet and cannot find anything for Revit. I have found plenty of lamp styles but none in cad nor revit.

This is the one I found on revitcity. I can open it and export it to a cad file. If you change the color it changes everything. If you explode it everything deisappears.

Please pay attention to what we repond with.   As I said "If the autocad file was built correctly, it can stll be controlled.   Materials are assigned to autocad solids on a layer basis ".   Take a look at my image.  Do you see the material assignment per layer?
