I am rendering a scene in 2016 Revit. 24x36, 150 dpi, Mental Ray, "Best" setting, exterior night scene w/ 80 lights.  70.4 mb image according to my settings. Sun and artificial is my scheme set at 9:00 pm.

I am at 62% rendered after 18 hours. what I can see that has rendered looks awesome but I will not get through this anytime soon. Does anyone know if I stop this operation and try Raytracer vs. Mental Ray if I will be succesful. I am concerned about what I am hearing that Raytracer doesnt like to render lights well and some times not at all. Am I better off to wait this out? Or try different settings in Mental Ray? Thx

Make a fake id on autodesk. Use guerillmail to create a fake email address. Open revit, login with fake id and go to render to cloud and render theat fella to the cloud. It will be finished super quick. logon to cloud render webpage and download completed renders. When you need to more rendrrs and you have no points to render just create a new id.

If you want to spend a quick hour learning 3dsmax for ONLY rendering, that would be my suggestion. (Its not as hard as you think, Revit has a very similar render dialog box, its just fashioned different than Max's)  3dsMax will also get you better results at twice the resolution in less than half the time.

5 easy steps:
