How can I get a wall finish (in this case, tile) to butt up against the door trim? In other words, I want the door trim to wrap around the door trim and not the tile. It would be great if this could be automatic.

This is something that I never worry about because it can be taken care of at the detail level where the model door frame is turned off. No matter - the solution is a little complicated. Look at the attached image. Here is what I did.
- Your door fame needs to be smaller because you don't want the tile under the frame. ... correctly. We typically never add tile to the wall description because tile is never full height and often has base - main field and possibly a bullnose top. So we use a thin wall (usually a stacked wall because of above.) This all is aligned with the host wall and then joined so that the host wall doors/windows/acessories properly cut the tile. This means the door frame will now properly size and place.
- If you use a normal door, the tile will only cut at the opening cut. That means it extends into the frame area. To solve this, I added some masking regions to the door frame family. You could also use a void cut in lieu of the stock opening cut.
