Hello,

did some research before posting this: I've read several help files, searched this forum and talked to lot's of people who might knew this. But here I am Sad

We receive our MEP drawings from an external agency. They also use Revit, but they will send us an IFC file.

When I open this file in Tekla Bimsight, I can see the correct categories, like ducts, pipets etc.

In Revit I have the mapping so that ifcPipes = Pipes. But when opening the model, all the pipes are generic model in Revit?

We like to clash the pipes etc, and then cut the floors and wall with a tool. But the tool does not recognizes generic models. So my question would be: how can I get the parts in the right category...?

Thanks for any help!

Jeroen

Why are you using an IFC file if they have Revit.   That's just crazy!

That's one solution we're working on. I think they don't want to give away their Revit knowledge...

"....don't want to give away their Revit knowledge...."  << That viewpoint has to change.  We see that with new offices that just don't get it.
