Hi guys, I'm finishing up my house project for school and trying to get renderings done. I have some lighting fixtures in my kitchen that aren't showing any materials on them and I can't figure out how to apply them. I was hoping someone would know what to do.
In my rendering you can see there is no material and in the image I provided you see what it is supposed to look llike.

Start by editing the family and check to see what material is assigned to those surfaces in the family. Then in the project, change the settings for that material or while in the family, assign a new material to those forms.

That's just it, I tried that, the only part that had material assigned to it was the down tube. I had to explode the fixture in order to apply material to it, but then it lost it's ability to adjust the length and ended up looking like the rendering below. Doesn't matter anyways, this fixture is system based, so I can't turn the light on with out making an actual electrical system and we're not doing that. I'd be better off making my own in autocad. Does anyone know if I put a point light in a fixture in autocad if it will transfer over to Revit?

There are things you did not tell us. When you say "...I had to explode the fixture..." that implys that this is NOT all Revit but maybe CAD. If so, then there are other methods you have to use.
" You write: "...this fixture is system based, so I can't turn the light on with out making an actual electrical system...." There are no lighting fixtures that are system based. Turning on a light for rendering purposes has nothing to do with the MEP electrical. It is a rendering switch and the family has to be built with a 'render" light source.

We can only help when you give us enough information to help you.
If you want us to look at your light, then include the family.
