Hi -
I have an older revit model of a building which I need to link to a new revit model (model 2) which is the site of the linked revit model (model 1).
When I link model 1 inside to model 2 the orientation of the model 1 is incorrect - even though the True North and location is the same for both. I noticed that I have a Project North set on model 1 - and that is the orientation it is coming in as, even though the true north is the same, which is what I thought would take preference.
Can someone please advise on how to link the model into my new site correctly please?
By the way I have tried rotated Project North on Model 1 to be the same as True North but this messes up some family locations and orientations even further.
Thanks in advance.

Read up on shared coordinates. When you have more than one model, you load the second model into the first. Ensure the first model is correctly located and orientated. Then you need to place the linked model in the correct position whilst it is loaded into the first model. Then you need to use the shared coordinates tool to tell the second link model to save its position. Have a look at this.

Hi Beaucoupnice,
Thanks for your advice, it's much appreciated, however, I am already using Shared Coords -I use it all the time, in fact the model in question has 2 autocad dwgs linked to it using shared coords and they are fine. It's just that this revit model isnt orientating correctly even though I am importing using shared co-ords. The orientation it is coming in with is the Project North rather than True North - and I have no way to select True North when linking the file.
I will take a look at the link you gave me just in case I am missing anything, however, if you can think of anything else I may be doing wrong, I would really appreciate it?
Regards.
