Hi
I have made several pipe and mechanical equipment using the revolve function. But when I load them into my model an orange line appeares representing the sketch from which I revolved my feature. I have tried turning off virtually every feature in the visibility/graphics panel, but I cannot hide them... Any tips?
Thanks

Did you do any linewortk in the family? I doubt this is your revolve sketch - instead get rid of your layout lines which must be 3D.

Thank you for your reply WWHub.
I think I made the shape as a line first, outside the revolve feature. Then I selected the lines to use as a basis when revolving. Im used to this from other CAD software. Do you mean that I should not do this in Revit, and only sketch within the 3D tools (extrude, revolve etc.)?
Thanks again!

Ok! but I don't sketch twice, I use model lines to sketch the outline. Then I choose the revolve tool, and just pick those lines. Thought it might delete my revolve if I just deleted the lines afterwards, but nothing bad happened

Picking (pointing) to a line is a sketch ....
A very, very long time ago, we used layout lines to draft almost everything, especially when we inked. Now it is a complete waste of time - just sketch it once. With a similar thought - Don't layout walls using lines - use walls! ...while watching your temporary dimensions.

Not to intervein, but on the subject, if you do the same thing with reference lines, and snap your dimensions to then, i found you get hte best results regarding parametric families, and contrainsts. That can be one of the most frustrating things, when you think you done with a family file that has like 10 different types, and 1 of them do not work because "Constraints are not satisfied" ... UGH!, like charlie-brown-and-the-punt-fakout UGH! =)
