Hi All,
How do you keep the tags on a sheet/view for a linked file when you are continually updating it?
We are currently using MEP 14 on a project and linking in the updated Architects model each week.
Ive created a set of Reflected ceiling plans and tagged each room of the architects plan to indicate the description of ceiling.
However, when i reload the updated model, the tags are lost.
Any suggestions?
cheers

Do you understand the "reload from" process?
You don't want to remove the link and relink it. Simply use the reload from and point to the updated model.

This process works unless you are doing other things you have not told us.
Is the architect changing his rooms ... deleting and putting in new?
Is the architect file the same file as the original - just a later version?

You can try to use the "Copy/Monitor" command in the Collaborate tab. This copy's elements from linked files, and recards there position, so if something moves in the link when you reload it, Revit actually gives you a heads up, saying it did, but instead of tagging something that "Blinks" in and out of your file when you reload it, you choose wht elements you want to copy over into your actual project, so when it doers "blink" from reloadingthe elements you selected to copy/monitor will not, leaving your tag placed.
Process:
Collaborate tab > Copy/Monitor > select the link you want to copy/monitor from > on the options bar (little bar under the command bar) click multiple, or else you can only do one at a time, and thats a little impractical in most cases > Select your desired elements. (note* this is where i usually select everything in a view that shows everything in the link, then use the "filter" command (little funnel) and select all of one catagory, because we usually need all the mechanical equipment) > IMPORTANT: KNOWN GLITCH: once you have the elements selected click the "little" finish on the options bar > then click the big check mark/finish to complete the command.
This comman usually does bog down the file, but it does work great for hosted families that need some kind of reference plane, like a hose bib or something of that nature, hope it helps.
