Currently entering in a beam system for the project. There are several different types of beams or columns that I must use in the system. I have loaded all the families that I need into Revit as my teacher stated. When I try to go in and edit the beams in which I need to change it does not allow me to change to the type which I need. Do I have to draw in each beam as need and do away with the whole beam system.

Sorry but your question is unclear.
Many structural beams in Revit are controlled by a type catalog. You can load all or some of the types. If you later need a different type, you need to go back to the library and load the type from there.

A beam system can only be used with 1 type of beam, if you have multiple beams you will need to input them individually.
