Hey all,

It seems someone on our team created a few views (3D and elevations) while working within a design option. Is there a way to disassociate those views with that design option? Since there was annotation and detail elements added we want to keep the views, but we want to accept a different option. The problem is that if we accept a different option as the primary Revit want's to delete the views, similar to how it deletes other elements in options that are discarded. I've tried to duplicate the views, but those too end up tied to the option. We may just have to recreate the views, duplicate the 2D elements and paste in place, but I'd like to know how to avoid this issue in the future. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You are quite correct, accepting an option will remove all other options ... so don't accept it.

Insted, in VG, set the option to the one you want to keep.  Do this in all affected views.

Ahhh, so no way to get rid of those options without deleting the views? We've got a lot of options and would like to clean up the list a bit. Normally, if there's elements from another option that we'd like to keep I'll copy them and paste in place before accepting the primary. But it seems like views cannot be broken from the option in which they were created?

Thanks for the help WWHub

The problem is a process problem.  The views going away may be dedicated to that design option.   Read your HELP here.
