So I've got a wall mounted fire alarm device with text in the centre of it as a label. Put the device on one wall, shows up fine. Put it on the opposite wall, text is upside down.

I've gone into the annotation family within the device family and unchecked the box for 'rotate with component', but it still rotates the text to upside down once i reload the family.

Anyone have an ideas that will keep the label/text the right way even when the device itself rotates to go on a different wall?

Did you check the box for "Keep Readable"? That should keep the text oriented the same way.

Yeah I did that after. Wasnt exactly what I was looking for, but it was a better result that having the text upside down.

Do you have the text as a "Model text" iin your family? I ran into this a few times, and if it is just a "Text" like from the annotation tab it should read correctly.

If that isn't it...

You can try to go into the opposite perspective (if you look at the text from front view, and it appears correctly, but then switch to the back view) andf place another of the same text down, over top of it, but for each instance of the text (both perspectives) use the "visibility" parameter and click the little rectangle after the value column (image attached) and assign a Ye/No parameter to it, and make that parameter a INSTANCE parameter, so you can toggle the visibility on, or off for each instance of that fire extinguisher in your project.

*Note: It would be wise to set one of the parameter on (or checked) and the other off, in the "Family Types" window of the .rfa. So you get a 50/50 chance of the text appearring correctly leaving you a chance not to have to turned on text off, everytime you place it.
