I have multiple families that I am trying to make adjustable in terms of an angle. For example an "L" shaped counter top that has a variable angle. The issue I am having is that every degree works until a perpendicular angle is formed, at that point the object loses its connection to the reference line. Is there any way around this. I am assuming that it is something built in to revit that causes lines to snap perpedicular to other lines and at that point lose their ablity to rotate? The reference lines work perfectly fine when they are by themself. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

hey jsburt,
I created some families that had issues with angles. The issue I had was to do with the parameter control / angle of rotation. When the parameter was entered in the project the item would either going funny (weird angles occuring that were not as entered) or cause it to crash and throw up errors. The solution i used was to use one object within the family that could be rotated and another that could not. I then used IF statements to switch between the two visibilities and to prevent the user from entering in an angle that would cause the item to malfunction.
Is this similar to what you were talking about? If so you could adopt a similar approach. If not, could you upload your family and/or add some screen shots?
