Within our Structure models we have the grid type set to show bubbles at both ends. (Edit type, check both boxes for End 1 and End 2) We opened a recent consultant model and did this, but the bubbles do not show at both ends for all grids.
By experimenting, I discovered that if you place the grids with both ends checked in the type, you get bubbles for both ends as desired. BUT if you then manually uncheck an end you cannot get the bubble back wtihout re-checking the end manually. (Changing the type Ends does not override this manual check) I'm thinking this is an example of Revit thinking it knows what we want- thinking we chose to override that end so it won't adjust with the type anymore.
Problem is the consultant did that, we WANT the bubbles on both ends. Is there a way to re-set the grid behavior so that the type controls all grid ends? I really don't want to have to go through the model and re-check them.

HEllo.... This is Revit - remember? This is one of those head slap's and we all have them.
This grid is a type.
- Edit the grid type adding a new type that has both ends checked.
- Right Click on one of the grids in the project and pick select all grids in the project
- In the properties window use the pulldown to swap the grids with the new type.

I know that- they are all already the same type. Revit ignores any end that has had a manual edit when you change the type- I'm asking if that behavior can be reset, so that it 'forgets' that anyone manually checked/unchecked an end.

Oh.... You are talking about the view instance. Just like the 2D grid end location, this is view specific over-ride and no way to globally reset.
Sorry that I dis not catch the specifics.

I did check out something....
If you click on the grid and select all instances in the project, then while hovering over one of those, now blue, grids and right click then select reset to 3D extends, then the over-rides will be cleared..... Maybe not what you want because now the ends may not be where you want them.
