Revit Structure 2016,
When you have multiple sections in a drawing, once you start putting them on sheets, the title bubble will start the numbering over again at 1 once you switch to the next sheet.
Just a small thing, and I know you can override the numbers, but I was wondering if this is just a simple check box somewhere that I have missed.
For example I have three sections, drag the first onto sheet 1, and call it sections 1. Then I drag the second section onto sheet 1 and it automatically gets number 2. But if I take the third section and drag into onto sheet 2, instead of numbering the section 3, revit numbers it 1 again.
Thanks

Also as a side question, after re-labeling a detail, say 'A'. Is there a way to make revit label the following details B, C, D, as they are dropped onto the sheet?
Thanks,

That would be correct. If you drag section 1 on to, lets say sheet S-1, it is going to be labeled 1/S-1 and section 2 will be 2/S-1. When you drag section 3 (which would be somewhat incorrect) on to sheet S-2 it is going to be 1/S-2. Because it is actually the first section on that sheet. It may have been the 3rd section that you placed on the drawing. But depending on what sheet you drag it on it could be anywhere from section 1 to section 10. Drawing order and sheet placement order can be different.

WWhub, I tried; I was asking if there is a way to do it. With all revits check boxes and options I figured there was just an option buried in the program that could to it

What you failed to test was if you dragged a view onto a sheet and it is the first view there, then by default, it is numbered 1. Now number that 3 and then you drag another view onto this same sheet ... what is it's number? TEST IT!

Can you read? Or are you trying to be funny? Yes, drag one on, its called number 1, then the next is called number 2. But the third section you drag onto a different sheet, is called number 1 again.
My point was that, that is a brutal function; in an architectural or structural set of drawings why would you have two sections number 1's?

Sorry - I forgot a sentence. "...umbered 1. Now number that 3 and then you drag..."
More then 50 years ago, we numbered our views with only one number. 1, 2, 3, etc but the standard for numbering has been a two-fold. View number/sheet number. Far superior standard and yes... we have many-many views numbered 1.....
