Revit view references change automatically when a view is changed to a different number on a sheet, or changed to a different sheet.
Often we have references to views that are within text or keynotes. These do not change automatically when a view is moved. We spend a good deal of time methodically chasing these down and often miss something. Is there a way to accomplish automatic view references that are withing text or keynotes?

You have no idea how much time you just saved me, not to mention my eyesight and sanity! Thank you, thank you, thank you
Now the only "issue" is making sure they stay aligned with the text that will be surrounding it.

It would be great if we could use it in a keynote or a schedule but so far, I don't think so. It works in any model or drafting view and in legends. Be aware though, once it refers to a view on a sheet, it will change as the view changes sheets or ref number BUT IF THE VIEW IS DELETED FROM THE SHEETS, IT SEEMS TO KEEP THE LAST LOCATION!

It seems like it should act like a live cut would act, where the reference # just goes away if the view is removed from a sheet. I'll play with it a little later.
You don't know of any way to embed this view reference into a text field do you?

You are correct. The view reference changes if the view changes. But if it is deleted, the reference remains the last sheet # it was on. Kind of yucky.

Greetings.
Has anyone been able to find a work-around for View References for Area Plans? Seems like 2015R2 still won't permit this.
Please tell me if I'm wrong ...Ian
