Hello everyone,

I am having a problem on a model im rendering, the cast iron balcony railing is showing up grey no matter what I do.

The railing is a Generic Model i Modeled in place, i changed it to the walls category and that did nothing.

I have changed to 5 different materials, from flat paints to metals and still its this grey color.

I have changed the sun angles and it makes no difference.

Any suggestions?

Thank you all in advance

You have not changed the materials.

Here is something to learn NOW.... THE PROJECT RULES!

Materials for family objects are assigned in the family editor.  And once the family is loaded and placed in the project, that material is also loaded unless it already exists.  Now the project controls that material.

So... to change the material, you must know what material was assigned in the family and now you have to change it in the project.

I assigned a meterial parameter in the generic model,  so when i loaded it into the project I could change it from there... Also tried removing the material peramiter and adding a new material from inside the family, also didnt work.
