Can Revit include elements in the project browser tree but not yet modeleed.  I am having problems with organizing Type-Marks.  Specifically, I am referring to structurl framing members.  The schedule seems like the logical place to organize these, but if I swap out a size and do not re-edit the family and remove the mark I will get duplicate mark instances. . . could be trouble.

Any thoughts on this?

Greg

Your trying to keep your marks sequential?  Based on what organization?

What happens if you have MK1 and MK3 but no MK2?  Seems top me that this is more of a problem.

Gee .... What happened when we hand drafted?   We didn't worry about that!  If we had to add another piece, it got a new number.  We sure didn't renumber the rest.

I am not trying to keep the marks sequential.  I am trying to coordinate design drawings with engineering design very early in the design process.  We are only at about 30% design.  Information is being provided by "type-similar manner" . My framing schedule is marked but is not simply showing section sizes.  Additional information like the connection and/or bolting requiremetns for each end are included withh the mark.  however, as design progresses and iterates, some elements may change and some may note.  But at the end of design, before final submission, I as thinking the pieces could then be reorganized to have b01, b02, b02 in lieu of 20 empty spaces that are not used.

Was I clear or completely confusing?
