I want to make a drop in a foundation slab (plain concrete). I tried to make an opening in the slab and draw another slab on the level i need then join them but didnt work. I tried also to make a slab edge but it was a stupid idea of course. I found a temperate solution to join the to levels with a beam but it wasnt a good idea enough for all shapes needed. Please check the attachment to see what I mean and thanks for help.

For the top one you can just use walls and floors, if they are the same material you can join them together and they will look like one piece.

For the bottom one a slab edge is not a bad idea and is what I would use. You would have 2 floors and the slab edge and again if they are the same material they will look like 1 piece.

In addition, you could use slab edge sweeps or in place families to form the 'walls' of your dropped area.

You may also want to look at this thread.

thanks for help... but I tried slab edge and it didnt work(it has spcefic dimensions that cant be changed)!! height difference between levels is too high for the slab edge to intersect with the lower slab. And by the way, i tried to join elements with the same material together. sometimes it works other times it refuses!!

Slap edge sweeps are dependent on the profile you provide.  That is how you change their dimension.  Looking at your section, an in-place sweep might be easier.

All materials will join if they really touch, are truely the same material and in the same phase.  Obviously, yours are not.
