So I want to paste a hatch pattern. I cant use alinged because its a view perpindicular to the other...anyway,
I paste, and revit shows a blue dotted box perfectly in the location I need. But I cant move my dotted blue box to match it. What is the command to make my paste match the blue dotted box? see pic

When you paste aligned, the new location is already determined.... it will be the same location as the view it is coming from. If you don't want it 'aligned' to that same location, then just use paste.

There is no paste aligned, because what I wanted to paste  from side elev to front elev) kills that choice by being 90 degrees to the original selection plane. BUT the comp still shows where it thinks I can place it. The point is: since its a simple "paste" then I can't get my cursor selection to match up with the computers suggested location. and if you hit enter nothing happens (well the hatch pattern Im pasting opens up for editing the boundary) but it doesnt go to the location shown by the computer.

Now I understand.... The problem is that the paste is still on that 90 degree other view. Sorry, that doesn't ever work. Instead just pick a point close to where it defaults then before finishing, use the 'edit pasted elements to move to the correct location.
