Hi, so has anybody been in this situation?
Goal: delete the group model.
Problem: can't delete it. When I try to, the error "Profile sketch is empty!" appears.
Description: The only thing it appears to be inside the group, is a non parammetric family. It used to have the entire project (since there was a change in the North direction of the project, I grouped it to rotate it and relocate it), but when I tried to ungroup it, the program wouldn't let me, so I started to remove each element from the group, until one was left.
Failed tries: ungroup group; remove the last object and save the changes; delete the group in model space; delete the group directly from the browser; delete the family that is in the group (which I don't need anymore) directly from the browser. The same error appears to all these ways. I also tried to close and reopen the program.
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks in advance.
AE

Did you know there is a process for rotating your model that would not have given you this problem?

WWHub, thanks for the reply. I did know that method, but you see this project is a building inside of a bigger project. Since I need to link it to that project, and I need to link the entire CAD project to this file, if I rotated the project's North, the whole project would have been rotated, and it's just this small building the one I needed to rotate. So I HAD to group it in order to rotate just this small building.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry - no help on your problem .... except I would have still rotated north and rotated the linked CAD back if north actually did rotate. If the model only need to be rotated then I would have not grouped anything. I would have just used a plan that was deep enough to show everything with everything on and rotated from that view.

Yes, I tried that first, but since I have some modeled in place components, tags, and categories, the program wouldn't let me do that. I even tried rotating only the modeled things in a 3D view, without the tags, but there were a LOT of errors, and not all the elements in the model rotated. Didn't thought to try it in an extended plan view though...
This grouping thing I found it in an autodesk page, if I recall correctly, so I thought it must be the way to go. It worked perfectly at first, but I was NOT expecting this annoying error... guess I'll have to figure it out by myself, or hide it in every view... oh well...
Thanks anyway!

Still open for suggestions.

I wondered if you had modeled in-place elements... Those can be problematic sometimes but if you rotate the entire model with any grids, it should not be. Obviously you loose all tags.
Just another thought.... when you right click on the group in the browser and pick all instances in the model, how many are there? Can you delete from here after picking? Design options? Nested in another group?
Can you use a filter somehow?
With problems like this, it may be best to send the model to Autodesk.

WWHub it's done! :D
It is so weird, but it had to do with the error "Can't regenerate family..." (http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=31685).
Inside the group, I had a sweep that was hosted on a wall, but this sweep was not giving me any errors; in fact, i managed to take out of the group both the wall and the sweep without problem. It was until I tried to redraw the sweep that I started to get errors, and not because of the sweep itself, but because of the host.
Once I modeled a new sweep hosted on a level, I deleted the old sweep, which was already outside the group. That done, the program allowed me to delete the group! Success!
Thanks a lot for the help!
