I hae duplicated a wall type to add base sweeps- however I have pocket doors in some of these walls- the sweeps do not break at the pocket door- so I wanted to try to manually place them in a 3D view.
The problem is- the only sweep that is loaded into my "Properties" is the cornice. When I go to families in my Project Browser_ I find the sweep I want to use- but I can't seem to get it permanantly entered into my Properties field.
What am I not doing? Revit tells me to click on the "place sweep" button- in modify/sweeps ribbon- but I can't get that ribbon to open.
I appreciate any help with this- thanks!

Are you adding a sweep to a wall in its type properties? Make sure 'cuttable' is unchecked - see picture.

To use a profile as a wall sweep, in the profile family set 'profile usage' to generic or wall sweep.
Also, see help menu. Hope it helps

Thank you for your input. It turns out those weren't my problems. I had to go into "Edit Properties" for the "cornice" (the only
Profile that appeared in my Properties Browser) - Duplicate it - rename it to the base I wanted- & Pick that base profile from the "edit Properties" then it was loaded into my Browser so I could use it. All the help I found only described how to place the profile - they didn't go through how you had to load the profile into the browser.
I do appreciate your response though Your second suggestion is one I have written down for future troubleshooting issues.

Although your process worked, it was not what you really want to do. pijpiwo had you on the right track. When you create a profile using the family editor, you need to set it's usage. Then it will be available as a new wall sweep type.

I will try that- I didn't think about that setting as this is an "out of the box" sweep, not one that I created. Thanks
