Hi all,

I used to think the best way to do my slab-wall joint detail was to do a call out, work in this raw section as a template and add detail items as needed. But the joint slab multi-layer in revit isn't accurate to this scale level, and i end up having a bunch of lines that makes my detail confusing.

I guess it's better just to do typical drafting details non reference to a specific joint....? Any thoughts?

Please share an image of what you are talking about.

BTW.  I have never seen Revit not accurate at any scale.

I usually do call out, blow up scale and fill in with detail items.

I figure out with the 'switch order of joint tool' the way to create the junction properly.

I just wonder if this is the way Revit is inteded to do the construction details or i should do a complete drafting view all with detail elements...?

"....or i should do a complete drafting view all with detail elements...?..."  Absolutly Not!

Have you even heard about this process? http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-BE871A38-C99F-4D07-93B5-576CEBA0E68D

With that, you can use most of your model elements.  No need for filled regions! And your geometry will be correct.

Use detail elements for finer detailing.  So a wall section at a window uses the model wall maybe with edit cut profile on some of the layers and add a window head & sill detail component.  Typically that may be all.. maybe some blocking detail elements and linework for air/moisture barrier.  Since this is a model section, your wall / fllor / ceiling tags all work and so do material tags.   Why would anyone want to do drafting details?   NOT ME!
