Hello All,
Using Revit 2015
I am having to create a custom schedule for a small project i am working on and just not sure where to even begin with this. Basically you can see in the attached excel sheet everything is going to have a "Number" deliniation so the project Arch can go into model and only change say the description or the Manuf without having to change the component everytime. I would like something that I can use like a custom Keynote schedule, load it, and tag as necessary but more importantly i need to tag several different families and have them all be in on custom schedule. I can only get 2 headings in a keynote schedule.
Thanks in advance for the help!

You can create your own shared parameters and assign those to multiple categories in a project. Then you can use a multi-category tag to read this parameter in the item being tagged and all of the items can be shown in one scedule with just these parameters.

The quick answer is do it like you do in CAD with dumb text. But the good answer is learn how to use Revit.

your a moderator, why are you so nasty to everyone that comes on this fourm to ask for help. If you cant be curtious maybe you shouldnt be a mod. In case you missed it, that was my freaking point in asking TO BE POINTED TO THE HOW TO so i can learn. Maybe someone less crass knows better how to help than you.

What is nasty?
You asked a question and I gave you the best answer but you complain that it is too hard and want an easy answer. So I gave you that answer as well and again reinforced the correct answer. When you ask a question listen to the answer.
If you then wanted pointers to how to do what I said, you should have asked that and I would have given you links to where this is all shown in your HELP.....

maybe your english skills are lacking, there was no complaint and i did ask for the "proper help" when i asked HOW.... Setting up a custom keynote schedule is simple. Why should it not be an easy thing to do to create a multicategory to work properly? Hence why i ask for an easy solution after mentioning the ease of Custom Keynotes. If you really wanted to help you would have saved your smarta$$ "learn revit" answer and just provided links when i asked for the HOW.

You obviously have a problem. Even though you have come to realize you can't do this with keynotes you still seem to want to rather than the correct way I gave you.
Multicategory is easy but you obviously will not even look in your HELP!
http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-3684FC23-379B-4860-B10C-23C376AFEFF2
Where it also tells you: "Note: If you do not specify a filter parameter for the schedule, then all family categories in your project that can have a shared project parameter will display in the schedule. See Categories Allowing Shared Parameters."
And so you also look up shared parameters:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-E7D12B71-C50D-46D8-886B-8E0C2B285988
And then as i said you need project parameters:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-24033B80-62D4-4E04-AC15-FA8A6194A64F
All of this requires you can and do read unless you just want to do the easy way and use text.
It's too bad you don't take advice very well. Good luck.

Too bad you couldn't look up in your HELP the terms I used in my first answer. ("...shared parameters and assign those to multiple categories in a project. Then you can use a multi-category tag ....") That is all I did to post the links. But you have to be willing to do something for yourself. We can't always hold your hand.... although I still do for my 2 yr old grandson.
