I started a project and am drawing the floor plan in my floor plan view.

I have a level below the floor plan which is a footing level at -12"  all of my walls, doors and windows

are inserting on the footing level. So I'm having to insert, then raise everything up to the floor level. How do I change the insertion level?

Using Revit 2015

Thank You

The process first starts with the active view's work plane which in plan views is typically the floor level.  But Revit likes to remember your last settings in a lot of instances.  So if you change the wall properties while in the process of placing a wall, Revit will use those settings for the next wall.   To fix, simply change them back on your next wall and all of the following walls will use that setting.

Actually, I did that wwhub. But you can't do that with doors and windows. Unless I'm missing something, you can only change them after insertion.

So my walls are inserting on the correct level now. But nothing else is.

Your problem is probably caused because you are not on the correct level.

Plans in Revit are more than just names.  If you copy a plan, change the name and change the view range to another level, Revit doesn't really understand that.  It is still associated with the copied view.

Typically, it is best practice to create your view from the view tab and pick the level you want the plan to associate with.  When you need more than one plan of the same level, follow the same process but uncheck the "Do not duplicate" check box.
