I know you can pack embedded files in other programs, but how do you do it for Revit? My model has hundreds of materials with embedded jpgs on them all over the place, so if I pass the model to other computers, they will have to relink all the files, which is a hassle.
Our office doesn't have a shared network which also means we can't use the central file. We pass our files via external hard drive.

I guess it depends on how you've organized the actual material JPEGs. We have a designated folder for our Revit central files, and within that folder we have subfolders for CAD links, project specific families, etc. If you had a material folder as well, you could maybe zip that whole directory and send it along? We don't transfer custom materials a lot.
Now, someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I've perceived this but I'm not sure if it's true. When Revit begins 'looking' for a linked file in windows explorer, does it begin it's 'search' in the actual location of the Revit central file? What I'm getting at is - if all the subfolders AFTER the location of the Revit file are identical, will Revit find those links on a new system?
If this scenerio were true, the zip method may work for OP.
