Hello all,
I have a question related to linking Revit models. We are working on a fairly large project, so we have set up a Site model with multiple (4) building models linked into the Site model. Each building model has the Site model linked into it as well, creating a circular reference. We were planning on setting up sheets for each building with each building model.
The issue we are running into is that all the building have shared details, and we were hoping to set up the details within the Site model, and have the capability of referencing them via a Callout tag within each building model. That way, a Cement Plaster detail can be the same on each building, and have the live-link capability where, if I change the number of that detail, it changes in all of the building models that Callout that detail.
So far, I have not found a good answer to this. I did find a strange work around using Section views with detail lines, and then referencing that Section view (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4EtVXjhoEE) but it seems that if I want to be able to have my details work in this smart way, I need to have my sheets and views set up in the Site model?
Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thank you!

The details will never be live linked. You will have to have fake sheets in your model with your callout views placed on that sheet in proper sequence.
I found this - I know nothing about it:
