I have looked up several post about how to create fill patterns and have created some before. I want a simple board and bat pattern.
Should be 10" board with a 2" spacing.
I think it should read like this but revit will not recognize it. Created it in note pad and saved it as .pat
*Board and Bat
;%TYPPE=MODEL
90, 0, 0, 12, 0
90, 2, 0, 12, 0
Revit 14
any help would be greattly apreseated,
smh

Try this:
90,1,0,0,12
90,11,0,0,12

Works perfect thanks.
If you have a second could you explain a couple of things? If you not don’t worry about it.
1) In the x start position it is 1 and 11. This would only be 1" apart not 2?
2) Is the Shift (digit 4) in the direction of the line and offset (digit 5) perpendicular to the line? I was under the impression the shift moved in the x direction and offset moved in the y direction.
Thank you for all your help

I’m not an expert, so don’t quote me on that:
The pattern repeats itself every 12 units (offset), so 1 and 11 work. You’re right – offset means vertically and shift horizontally, but because the pattern is rotated 90 deg. (vert. lines), offset works kinda like shift. I know, confusing, but that’s how I understand this, …or not (lol).
Also, afaik, 0 offset is not permitted.

1) 2" apart. the first set of lines now repeat 1,13,25, ... and the second -1,11,23, ...
2) Shift and offset are relative to the line, irrespective of its orientation. try this:
*Horizontal Board and Bat
;%TYPE=MODEL
0, 0, 1, 0, 12
0, 0,-1, 0, 12
Note the line origins had to be respecified but the shift and offset arre the same as when vertical.
