Hello, i'm fairly new to the mass modeling and family aspects of Revit.
I'm working on a church from the start of the century. I am familiar with the workings of revit, of how walls and curtain walls etc work. But this complex assortment of walls leaves me at a loss. If i do mass modelling, how can i make windows? since the curtain wall is just placed on either the inside or outside of the mass, and not the whole wall.
So... How would you advice me to model this building?
Thank you for your help!
I'm working in Revit 2015

I would use component in-place wall extrusion.
For your windows and some doors, you will need to modify your families to achieve these kind of wall opening shapes – use voids instead of wall opening element.

DON'T USE MASS!!! This is a good tool for sloping walls, really odd forms and quick planning but it is always preferrable to use regular revit components whenever you can.
See attached:
- Full thickness wall
- Create a face based, parametric void family to cut your wall step backs
- You will have to paint the step back faces
- Create an appropriate window family that has an adjustable exterior/jamb trim
