The material pattern for a generic model made of an extrusion shows in the model but not in plan view. Both model and drafting patterns have been tried, there are no overrides and the detail level is set to fine.

Does anyone have an idea how to make the pattern show in plan? Thanks!

If you are cutting the object, then there is a seperate cut pattern.

If you mean the top surface of an object, has there really been a material assigned to this surface?

Maybe a simple snip of your plan and the properties of the object would help.

Thanks for weighing in, the cut plane is above the object so it should be showing the top surface. Attached is a screen shot of the object material properties.

OK ... so that is the material.   What is the object?

These are the object properties. When in the Edit In Place mode for the object, the pattern shows up but it dissapears again after clicking Finish Model.
