Hi -
I am working on a pretty large survey using point cloud data, and I have an issue regarding existing concrete stairs in that I have 4 storyies of flights, all different with varying landing heights and risers etc. I have tried modelling up these using both stair by component and by sketch, and neither are working for me, as I need to show the different riser heights etc rather than all having the same height.
As a result I was going to model the stair flights using standard in-place families - and add the rails later.
My question is, would this be acceptable to be done for existing stairs rather than using a built in stair system in Revit?
Any advice would be appreciated,
Peter.

Typically, what is important for existing stairs is the beginning/end elevations, number of risers and treads/run length. There is absolutly no reason to model minor variations in riser height. So use a standard stair. You might have to model each run separetly because of overall dimensional differences per run.
