I’m not sure if I understand that correctly, are you duplicating 1st floor plan to use it as a 2nd floor plan? It doesn’t work that way. Just forget about the autocad. Revit requires totally different mindset. Using autocad methodology with revit will get you nowhere.
If you duplicate a 1st floor plan, for example, it is still a 1st floor, because it is associated with level 1 (see view properties under extents, associated level). You can use it for a furniture plan, or whatever, but it is a 1st floor plan.
To create a 2nd floor plan and so on, you need to add levels to you project in section or elevation view. When you create a level (architecture tab->datum panel->level), a floor plan associated with this level will be automatically created. Hope it helps.

By creating levels, revit automatically creates floor plans (see project browser). Now, you have to add geometry (walls, windows, doors, etc.) on each level (floor plan). If the layout of all floors is the same, copy 1st floor geometry to clipboard and paste with an option ‘aligned to selected levels’. Or, you could create a group out of level 1 geometry and copy this group to your other levels. When you make a change to a group, all groups will update – a great time saver.
Creating levels, floor plans, and other views is fundamental in revit workflow. I’d suggest going through some tutorials to familiarize yourself with those basic and crucial concepts. YouTube is a good start or tutorial like this one: http://revittutorials.info/
