Hi
i have a curved wall in my building and when i place windows they follow the curve of the wall. the architect wants the windows to sit at straight and not follow the wall curve
i have drawn model lines on the print screen to show what line i want the windows to sit at.
i tried wall openings but they also follow the line of the curved wall.
anoyone know how to get around this in revit 2015.

You will have to modify your window family to do this.
- You will have to remove the opening cut and add a void cut
- Then you will have to edit all the components to rotate around a reference line.
BIG PAIN!
I think I would recreate my window as non hosted. Then I would create a haosted wall cut that would have adjustable side angles. Then place the wall cut in the model and the non-hosted window in the opening.

big pain indeed
am i better to create the wall as a curved wall family then use void cuts at straight edges and place the glass and window frames in the family at straight edges then load it into my project as one whole piece?
havn't tried this yet just trying to work out the easiest (and quickest) way.
thank you for giving me options

There is no way to create such a family.....
Walls are system family. They can only be created in the project evironment.
Your window is a wall hosted element and is set to show in a pre-set way based on the WALL. You can nest a wall based family in another wall based family but it will work the same as it currently does in your model.

i got it to work
drew a window using model in place but only drew the opening of the window dimensions i wanted using void extrusion.
then i used a curtain wall glazing and changed the dimensions to match the window dimeniosns i wanted and disallowed the joins (right click the blue circles at either end and hit disallow join) if you don't do this it won't let you place the glazing in the opening.
then i added mullions and will add cill later
thanks for all your help
