what are the solutions when revit gives you this repsonse.
making a wall opening near a perpindicular junction between two walls in revit 2015. i want it to be 738 opening but it sanps to 828 and wont let me change the dimension. i have tried disallowing and allowing wall joins but didn't work.

I NEVER use wall opening tool. I think this tool never works right and is hard to use. I have a door family that is just the opening and is set to not schedule.

Hi WWHub, I have the same problem with the wall opening. Your solution is intillegent. Is it possible to share such door opening family?
Thanks
Sherazy

Sorry, I don't have that family here but it is so easy to make so you should do it. Just copy a standard door family with a new name and remove the door leaf and swing.

1. Try: turn on the "show constraints" button and check if the opening constrains itself to the center of the perp wall.
2. Try to make the opening with "snap off"
3. Try making a reference plane (plan view) aligned with the face of the wall before doing the opening so the opening will snap to it.
4. If those dont work, use "in place (void) component" to substract it from the wall. (must be "generic model" or "wall" cathegory)
