Hi, so I have a piece of furniture I have designed and one of the families i added to it is completely visible in 3d view but when I created a camera view it is no longer visible as normal. Instead it shows up as symbolic lines. Now i checked the visibilty settings and they are exactly the same in each view. Can anyone explain this one to me?

We would probably have to see the family.

That's a furniture family? I don't think so.
In addition - you want us to guess at what doesn't show? Please respect us and our time by giving us enough information to help.

No it is not. Let me re explain, appologies for any confusion im not trying to waste anyone's time, I really do appreciate any help I get here.
So I created a piece of furniture in the project environment. This piece of furniture is not a family at all. I added a family to it (the one that I provided you to see) and that is the family that displays and renders fine only in 3d view but should I create a custom view with a camera and render that, it doesn't render at all, it shows as completely invisible. Even before rendering, it shows as what appears to be symbolic lines within the camera view as opposed to solid geometry.

???? The family you posted is a trench drain!
Now you tell us it's an in-place family. There is nothing we can do for you without seeing what you are doing. There are NO symbollic lines for in-place families so that part of your initial question just doesn't make sense unless you have your view set to wireframe ... but even then, it will render correctly.

Okay, the piece of furniture i created was created in place in the project environment. Everything I created displays and renders perfectly. The family which I provided here (the trench drain) which i realize is not a furniture based family (i never said it was) was applied to my piece of furniture and this family and this family alone is what is not displaying properly in camera view, instead they are displaying as lines (wether symbolic or detail whatever) If you cannot make sense of things based on my descriptions i very much appreciate your time and i appologize if your getting frustrated. but its okay because i just created my own drain.
