I'm having problems importing and exporting ceilings and floors from Revit to IFC.

A Revit ceiling gets exported as IFCCOVERING, and the usual properties (materials, constraints, assembly code) get exported fine. However, there is no connectivity information : ceiling connected to a set of bounding walls for example.

This in it self is not a major problem. However, when I import the same file back into Revit, the ceiling object is not recognized as such and only the generic model properties show.

Has anyone found a proper way to import ceilings and floors from IFC into Revit?

I see where a lot of users don't recommend the built-in exporter.
