Hello all,
so ive demolished my stairs. and it disappears from my views...except my floor plan.
the stairs kind of hides itself, but leaves this diagram of the stairs that I cant even hide in the view. notice the greyed out options. can someone tell me what Im doing wrong?
the view is set to show only new and existing so its not that. the stairs ARE demo'd but you can demo this stair diagram thing (this is new to me in 2013)

Have you got all the updates installed for 2013. I believe there were three.

Hmmm cant remember if Ive only done up to #2, looked around for the "about revit" but can't find where it is, Where does it tell me that ive only done up to two? and also, if it doesnt matter can I just do #3 (even if Ive already done that?)
Edit: Yes I have service pack 3. the issue is that the stairs seems like there are two overlaid stairs when you draw just one. does anyone notice this? its that undelaid one that wont go away...

Service Packs are available from the Autodesk website, off each product page.
Not all products will have service packs available and not all service packs are cumulative. This means that if your product has a Service Pack 2, you may be required to install Service Pack 1 first. In all cases, if you try to install a service pack with a prerequisite, the service pack will simply not install.
I have all 3 service packs installed. Note that I do NOT have your problem.

Note though, I have selected the carriage in my view. the stairs disappears like yours, but the weird object "carriage" stays there. does this make sense? its like the stairs have two parts, the stairs themselves and this carriage object whick is completely seperate selectable object...

I see no carriage but.....
Are your stairs by sketch or by component?
If by component, do you have to demolish both? I don't know, maybe that is your problem.
If not, then look again at your updates. Typically, we recommend that you always install in sequence and don't skip any updates.

Im having this problem again. on another project. I have all the service packs. look at this image. The stairs are demolished. but this artifact of the stairs remain. you cant choose to hide it. its greyed out. cant choose to set it to demo or not because there is no option for it in the properties. its like the stair is gone but this secondary stair thing wont leave. I will have to simply delete it from the project to get it to go away. please help me :-(

View setting>> "show complete"
I have that in 2015 and the stairs demo just fine.
Upper view - properties as shown
Lower view - show all - existing phase

Thanks HUb, but Im still a little lost.
Im going to post the model (stripped down)
Ive also (for reference) added the two types of stairs you can draw, ie. by sketch, or by component.
they both work fine. the stairs in question are like a third type. "assembled stairs" (when you select it)
Since there is only two options for making stairs, where did this third type come from? How did I draw it, if there is only two options. Help files are a little dry on this subject, and the videos I watched focus on basic assembles parts (though not sure if its the same thing)
edit: nvm on the attachment, 5mb to big :/
