i was astounded to find that the cost of revit was over 6000 euro from the only reseller in Ireland (not including subscription), this works out at 7200 US dollars.
in the USA it costs under 5000 dollars
my understanding is that the software is identical so why the price difference
what are the prices in other countries, eg. Australia, UK, etc
is there any way of buying the US version, surely someone wants my money

The CAD Store in Arizona sells Revit 8 for $3.050 USD without the subscription, but I think you're a bit out of their territory. Can't hurt to ask, though.
I guess if that reseller is the only one in Ireland, then he's basically got a monopoly and can sell at whatever price he wants, hence the high price.
Maybe you can try someone in the UK where there may be some more competition?

maybe you should apply for a reseller license... 
buy somewhere else if you can.

i tried a reseller in the UK and they were 500 euro cheaper, mabye France or Germany will be cheaper still
i'm coming to West Caost USA in Spring so Arizona may not be so far out the way
