Hi,

I have a Revit Model (project) completely modelled & annotated and dimensioned etc. in various views.

my requirement is, i want to link the above model into a clean revit file and have all the views created as they are in original model...

how do i get it?

i know the copy monitor method, but there are so many other duplicated views of the levels, that are used for various purposes, like stairs, lifts, fire drawings, enlarged views (differed scale) etc.

...............................

what iam thinking is copy the completed model, delete all model elements, delete 2d line work for all views Sad and basically get the model cleaned leaving the levels, sections and callouts as it is & link the above model orgin to origin and have it done.....

..............................

is there any shortcut or smarter method...help pls.

ultimate purpose is, that this linked model is issued to people only for viewing, measuring & printing purpose...and they dont have any control on the model itself to edit etc.. it is clients requirement...

cheers

W

I think you needed to better define this before signing the contract.  ARe you sure this is what you need.  We share our model with clients and consultants but we don't do as you are asking.   We do remove all non-sheeted views and our seals from the project as well as purging all not used.  Then we make a PDF proof of what is shared.  There are also "locks" or maybe I should say a means of tracking if the file is changed or not.

There is no way to transfer model views that I know of.  Obviously a linked model where the link is protected is your best process.
