The twelve pages of Revit 9 features and modifications to existing commands demonstrates that the Autodesk Revit Development Team is listening for user suggested improvements to Revit. It starts with file import/export tools that provide direct import of native SketchUp files (SKP). An expanded CSI-organized detail library, I-drop support, animated Sun Studies that can be exported to AVI, sloped beams, columns with top/bottom constraints and we can now transfer drafting views, sheets and data schedules to other projects. As I said, 12 pages of additions and improvements. The Revit WOW takes a big leap as Revit 9 is also prepped for Revit (MEP) Systems which has an expected ship date of April 19th! Revit Systems - Series Plus is a new offering featuring Autodesk Building Systems as part of the suite. Revit Structure 3 / Series expected ship date of April 12th. And Revit Building 9 / Series expected ship date of April 9th. My Revit Building 9 beta version has been working great as we run it through the paces. I always hold my breath as we approach First Customer Ship (FCS) hoping the great beta version features I see are released at FCS. As I said, 12 pages of additions and improvements…there's a good chance it will all make it to FCS. Download links for all of the Revit-platform and Autodesk 2007 products are on my blog post for today. Revit 9 Sneak-Peek! Press Embargo Lifts Today! Woo-Hoo! http://taylor-tech.com/blogs/getEntryById/72/entry.html We'll continue to update this blog and those links with the specifics on Revit 9 additions and improvements over the next few days and weeks. Cheers to the expanded Revit Platform! Post edited on 2006-03-01 10:51:20
